# Market Opportunities

While we don’t expect to be Zoom or Slack, I think it’s important for us to understand the market size of a well-run global SaaS business in the online collaboration space.

## Zoom

Zoom doesn’t report active user numbers, but their revenue in 2020 Q1 is $328.2 million, and their mobile app is estimated to have 173 million monthly active users.

Their 2021 revenue is forecast to be $1.78 billion.

## Slack

Slack reported $201.7 million in revenue this quarter, with 122,000 paying customers (some customers have hundreds of thousands of users). If I remember correctly, they have about 13 million users and about half of them are associated with a paid account.

## Meet.coop

This is where we are now.

I’d say we have plenty of room to grow 😉 the market opportunity will easily support our team’s livelihoods if we do this right.

* * *

You may have noticed that in our new offerings, we put our hourly rate as **£60 per hour**. This is inline with the external hourly rate of many of our members, and we propose to use this in translating hours to a monetary value when quoting customers. This is the rate we quote, and includes operational costs, so it’s not the same as the rate we are paid.

@hng pointed out in tech circle that:

- **homepage text** can’t be done easily, we should remove
- **custom SMTP server** is usually a pain, but we can offer

Also near term tech plan:

Set up a TURN server immediately in Canada, Q4 repurpose Koumbit VM for hosting Greenlight instances, Q1 (or Q4 if $ allows) eventually start a EU server (point Greenlight to EU vs. CA, user can choose). Eventually we want 2 servers per location.
