At our community gathering today, we said that an urgent decision should be taken about paying work for the video recordings. So, I’m preparing the updated decisionmaking as follows (and recognising it is imperfect, but hopefully good enough for now and safe to try):
The decisions category was previously only for operational members to vote on. Now I opened it up as follows:
Note that forum users are automatically categorised by the system into the trust level categories. New users start in trust_level_0, and when engaging in the forum they get into trust_level_1, now 133 people. The more active ones are in level 3 (39) and up. So to keep our governance lightweight - in absence of proper membership registry, let’s assume that anyone willing to engage is in level 1, so they get voting rights. And people from the previous operational membership plus the level 2 more active group can create a proposal in the decision category.
Hopefully that works sufficiently ok, but if problems arise - like “I cannot vote” - just give a shout. We do want people to care and voting is part of caring!
