after last Board of Stewards @mikemh and myself took up the action item to develop a slide deck for [meet.coop](http://meet.coop) that should help people understand the basics of [meet.coop](http://meet.coop) and why they should join us. We have taken into account feedback from Stewards about what they perceive as current blockers for people to join. And we tried to build the narrative of what the emerging [meet.coop](http://meet.coop) is (becoming).
The slide deck comes in two formats: 1) a deck that’s just the slides, 2) a version with the text written out per slide in a note box for each slide.
We hope you can review this and help us iterate to a presentable version, especially we call for @andia @osb and @Graham in this iteration.

To get some steam up, we should move asap with this slide deck in an OK’d version? And asap make a video presentation . . . resources to enable ops members and the Board to begin recruiting members.
Please do comment this week if possible. The draft is four days old already. If the deck looks good, what associated media (or media versions) do we also need? @andia @osb @Graham

This deck is quite an extended version for potential members; a spoken version might take around 15 minutes. I’d suggest that with your feedback we’ll also make a condensed version of a few minutes, and a 1 minute elevator pitch. What would you highlight in such condensed versions?

it maybe good for people in those target groups, but maybe not all our members would feel represented by that delimitation? I wouldn’t put it like that on our site, but it does cover or relate to most of us.

Mike and I had a very constructive meeting with @georgiamoon first of all to update her with the latest developments at [meet.coop](http://meet.coop) and secondly to explore what kind of relationship SimplySecure would be most comfortable with. We tested the slide deck on her 🙂
In a nutshell, for the slide deck feedback we noted several changes in the [meeting chat](https://cloud.meet.coop/f/126452). Maybe most importantly that we shouldn’t be so negative about BBB. It maybe quirky, but it does work nicely for most users.
She was very positive about the overall development of [meet.coop](http://meet.coop) and happy to contribute as Collaborator member, especially with 1) occasional UX feedback for different process flows (e.g. in the forum), 2) continue to help reach out and do organic marketing, 3) plug [meet.coop](http://meet.coop) to funders when she scouts funding opportunities. She’ll keep her eyes open. That alone is already very valuable.

In the narrative of the slide deck the following points occur. Are these sufficiently positive? In the Board meeting @graham made a point close to the first one:
- slide #14 “BBB is powerful online meeting software, with a lot of experience behind it. It does the job for many thousands of users.”
- slide #15 “While the features are not always what mainstream users expect, the platform is plenty good enough, it has a human scale and it aims for change.”
- slide#5 “Cultivating organisers’ fluency and capability in the mutual sector through an adequate, clear and easy stack of tools”
- slide #2 "The world is in transition to a new economy, and we organisers need serving with adequate tools that we can mobilise and steer. "
We can underline uniqueness more maybe?
- slide #18 “This is a rich and unique playback mix that reflects the interface available in a BBB room. The mainstream platforms don’t offer this degree of richness in interaction or recording.”
- slide #13 "The experience people have with BigBlueButton and with [meet.coop](http://meet.coop) differs (partly intentionally) from the experience with mainstream platforms.
Over the months of the Covid pandemic millions of people have got used to the way the BigTech corporates do it. So it’s good to look at:
- some of the differences in user experience
- expectations that members might have of [meet.coop](http://meet.coop) and
- some unique features of the app **and** the coop."

Hey Deacon! It’s great to see the dedication you and @mikemh had in crafting that slide deck, even two years ago! The effort you put into addressing blockers and shaping the narrative of [meet.coop](http://meet.coop) is commendable. Speaking from personal experience, revisiting old projects can bring fresh insights. If you’re still fine-tuning it, perhaps connecting with a [monday.com partner](https://www.enable.services/) could offer new perspectives and tools to streamline the process. Keep up the fantastic work!
