BBB meet.coop down

Hi all,

bbb.de.meet.coop is down

Is anyone else having the same problems?
Is there a support address to report the down?

Hi Luca. Yes, there does appear to be an issue. Thanks for lflgging this up. I’ll get it looked at ASAP.

@luca.femprocomuns looks like ca.meet.coop is up and running though, so you could use that server. Your login should provide access.

Thanks @Graham
Ok, but, ca.meet.coop use the same API Key as bbb.de.meet.coop?

Sorry @luca.femprocomuns - not sure I understand. API key?

We have a “reseller” instance at CommonsCloud that uses bbb.de.meet.coop as backend. The API key is a secret key that allows us to connect our front end to the BBB instance

@luca.femprocomuns recently joined the technical team at CommonsCloud

Investigating further we see that the bbb.de.meet.coop IP is blocked by the provider (Hetzner):

This usually happens when there’s a payment missing or when there’s some kind of abuse / suspicious traffic coming from this IP, see the documentation: https://docs.hetzner.com/robot/dedicated-server/troubleshooting/guideline-in-case-of-server-locking/

@gcotnoir can you check in the Hetzner account? They should also have sent an email to the contact address of the account with the reason to lock the server.

Cheers,
^dj

Thanks @dvdjaco - who has access to the Hetzner account? Are login credentials stored somewhere useful?

The account was previously managed by Hypha but it is my understanding that it was transferred to WebTV a while ago

I think WebTV agreed to take on the Koumbit machine , and the Hetzner account was supposed to be taken on by Platform6/Innovation.coop, but I’ve seen no details about that as yet. I’ve contacted Hypha. Assuming it is a matter of money I’m able to resolve that, but need access to the account. It’s still early morning in Ontario. Hopefully get some feedback in the next couple of hours.

Hello,

WEBTV is taking care of the payments for the canadien server (Koumbit) and Innovation is suppose to take the EU server.

I have no contact with the EU provider.

My bad, I had it wrong

We’ve identified the issue and are trying to sort it out with the provider.

it was a denial of service attack on the server (we were not the only people to suffer, I think, renting servers from Hetzner). The port was unblocked by Hetzner on Thursday, all should be fine now.
