Wouter and I discussed the need to clarify our vision, mission and objectives in our Org meeting today, which will help keep us on track and feed into our Community work and defining our Constitution … and other tasks…
We reviewed the following:
Key Objectives (as defined in May 2020)

Run a shared online meeting service for the Commons, Social and Solidarity Economy

Consolidate an international network of cooperative technology actors and build critical mass for ethical alternatives to GAFAM

Explore opportunities to complementary projects between the networked actors
Meet.coop’s mission is to (as formulated by Oli in Nov 2020):

Provide GDPR compliant video conferencing, free from surveillance and monetisation of users’ data

Accelerate the development of cooperatively owned and cooperatively run digital infrastructure
-
Contribute to the development of a commons-cooperative economy powered by open source tools and renewable energy

provide a cooperative, privacy respecting, commons-oriented online meeting service

consolidate an international network of cooperative technology actors to encourage shared development of collaborative digital infrastructure

We could probably word-smith these a bit to make them more ‘snappy’… but do they capture everything we hope to do? If we can gather feedback and thoughts here the Org Circle will attempt to incorporate any feedback and come up with the final suggested wording.
