femProcomuns change of relationship and internalisation of BBB service

Hello co-operators from MeetCoop

At femProcomuns cooperative (SomNúvol/SomosNube/CommonsCloud) we have participated in MeetCoop since 2020 and would like to continue to participate in this space for knowledge sharing, but we want to internalise the service for our users, who are also our members.

With geographical proximity and a greater control of the infrastructure, we think we will be able to give a better service to our members (individuals and organisations), update the software and attend any incidents.

That’s why we have installed BBB in our infrastructure and we are migrating all our user’s services. We would like to keep MeetCoop running at the same time so they can download their videos. If we can restore our users access to MeetCoop (which hasn’t been working for a few months) we could give them a month to download their videos and then stop using the service.

MeetCoop was a good solution via international intercooperation during the pandemic, but after a few years we see that we can provide better service by proximity. We would like to be able to continue being part of it to share knowledge about management of videoconference systems between cooperatives from different countries.

We hope you understand our decision and facilitate this transition.

Best,

femProcomuns Team

Hey @CommonsCloud, no problem.

Please see Can I recover my recordings despite service being down? - #3 by kawaiipunk for the latest technical details about recordings. The data is safe and backed up but there are barriers in the way to reuniting users with their recordings.
